Interview with my Deck: Casanova Tarot
I have a new deck, and I love it…. the Casanova Tarot. Not sure if I’ll be allowed to publish this photo on the blog, but I do hope so!!! I’m using the LWB as a starting point to get to know the deck, since these cards don’t really follow in the RWS tradition…
1) How would you describe yourself?
IV – The Emperor. I am the symbol of Power. I am in control here, I am indeed the King of Tarot. My intention is to protect you and keep you safe, but for me to do so, I expect you to listen to my words carefully, and heed my message, for I know what is best. Get over your Daddy issues, and start taking guidance from one in authority who knows best.
2) What do you think of me?
8 of Chalices reversed. This card symbolises shame. You have been up to no good, and it is time for you to get back to reality and start doing things the right way. You’ve been making the wrong choices, and you need to get your head back in the game and start thinking clearly rather than letting your emotions run away with you. [I feel like I’ve been caught out here!] You are out of control, and you need to calm down and find some balance.
3) What type of readings do you like?
XV – The Devil reversed. I think I have already shown I like to get to the real heart of the matter. I will help you to uncover your shame by helping you to look at the deceit within; and address your desires. And let’s not forget the Lust. If you are confused in your choices, then look to me, I will show you exactly which way you should be going. When we sin, we choose to do so, and I will show you exactly where you are going wrong morally. You might like what you are doing, and you might chose to hold on to these defects, but at least I will show you clearly what exactly it is that you are doing.
4) What type of readings do you dislike?
13 (Queen) of Pentacles. This Queen has the ability to seduce and get what she wants with minimal effort. If you are looking for the easy way out, then I have no time for you. If you want my help, you need to be done with your selfishness and arrogance, and get down to the heart of the issues you want me to help you resolve.
5) What is your strength?
2 of Pentacles. I specialise in hedonistic pleasure and enjoyment. I will help bring you back to the basic desires in life, I will hone your basic instincts, starting with your passion. But this needs to be balanced carefully – let your libido take over and you may well lose control [in male terms, this is reminding me very much of when they think with their **** rather than their head]
6) What is your weakness?
12 (Knight) of Pentacles. Restraint. You might think I tend to get straight to the point, but I tend to wait for the right opportunity. You might think I am a fun light hearted deck, on account of how I focus on the issues you would normally blush at or laugh off, but I am deadly serious. You thought you were buying a sex game to spice up your relationship. Well you weren’t. When I speak, I am deadly serious.
7) What can you teach me?
I – The Magician. I will teach you to bring your cunning and your wile into play, to balance out that flighty attitude with which you bought me. Seduction is a multi-faceted talent, and you need to learn to balance your passion and your love with at least an awareness of how your shenanigans will affect your life, your relationships and your security. You need to start thinking with your head, in other words, and not just running off after every whimsical fantasy.
8) What do you need from me?
6 of Swords. You have heard my message. You have identified what it is you were doing wrong. You have realised your troubles were largely of your own making. Now you understand the issues at hand, you should move on. Leave the past behind, and use what I say to help direct you towards the smoother waters.
