Ethics

  • At British Tarot our philosophy is that “Tarot tells us what we need to know. Once we know we can change our minds”.  Readings are not for telling fortunes, but rather they take a look at underlying issues of the clients’ lives, enabling them to make decisions on which path they should follow. As such, readings are usually best as a two way process, and we hope you will feel comfortable to interact and answer any relevant questions.
  • We cannot make medical diagnoses using the cards, but we may be able to help you understand how to work with your existing diagnosis.
  • Readings are in confidence between the client, the reader and British Tarot. We will never share your personal information or readings with other parties, unless we feel lives are at risk and we have a moral responsibility to report to the relevant authorities.
  • If appropriate, we may suggest that clients consult a qualified professional.
  • Clients will be treated equally and with respect. There is no such thing as a silly question, and we will do our best to help you in an open-minded, honest and non-judgmental manner.
  • When a fee is due, the amount will be agreed prior to the reading, and the reading will be given on receipt of payment.
  • If at any time a reader feels unable to complete a reading, they will withdraw tactfully.
  • Readings will not knowingly be given to clients aged under 18 years without permission from their parent or guardian.
  • Readings cannot be given about anyone other than the client.
  • Readings are for entertainment purposes only (we have to say that), and British Tarot cannot take responsibility for the consequences of any actions you may chose to take after receiving a reading!
