Lighthearted Lookahead: The Magician Inverted

Lighthearted Lookahead: The Magician Inverted

In General

The Magician appears inverted when it’s all upside down, and we need to remember to draw on all the tools at our disposal in order to bring balance to our hectic lives, and boy do we know it as Summer draws to its close and we start to feel the drawing in of the days… so perhaps it’s time to brush the cobwebs off the shelves and take a good look at the tools we have in stock… there are bound to be valuable resources there which we know are great, but we kinda forgot about them for a while…

In Love

Let’s face it, as the hours of light slip away, so does our optimistic outlook. Mr. Perfect isn’t seeming quite so perfect at the moment.  But we have the tools to manage – if the sun isn’t illuminating our relationship quite as much now, then we can turn on the light – after all it’s a tool at our disposal!  Yes, it’s time to start opening up and sharing our issues before they start closing in on us.  Be honest, open and up front so that you can both see clearly what tools you have to move forwards with.

In Work

Yes!!! Finally the kids are going back to school – but every silver lining has a cloud.  The school run traffic will be cluttering up the roads once more, and the rush hour will start to feel rushed again. The change might feel unwelcome for a while, but life does move on and we need to make the most of what we have by turning our perspective upside down and drawing the positives out of the annoyances.

A new coffee tumbler might help for those tiresome waits at the traffic lights… we can perhaps leave ten minutes earlier, and use the pauses in our commute to calmly mull over the plans for the day so we arrive prepared – now, isn’t that better than stressing and getting annoyed at idiot drivers who don’t understand the importance of courtesy?

In Play

As the barometer drops, so do our spirits.  The Magician reminds us that we need to keep the balance between work and play, for we don’t want to become dull boys do we?  Life isn’t all about homework – take a break and get out there and have some fun. I once learned that the average attention span for an adult is 20 minutes.  Take plenty of breaks… but don’t procrastinate, use these playful moments to re-energise.

In Finances

Yes, it’s been tight.  The school shoes cost us a fortune… but are you REALLY trawling the clearance sections for the cheapest pair of trainees you can find? Yes, you deserve a bit of pampering too. You are worth it. Go for the cushioned soles with orthopaedic support… you will be glad you did.

In Spirituality

The Magician inverted is a reminder that we need to look at the balance in our life.  That means we’re not balancing things correctly as it is.  Now, I want you to think carefully. How long was your morning meditation this morning before we leapt into the rat race at full steam ahead?
