Enchanted Tarot: 7 The Chariot

“The Self is the rider in the Chariot of the body, of which the senses are the horses and the mind, the reins” ~Bhagavad Gita

In the midst of a backdrop of mountains, a woman with a steely focussed gaze is looking into the distance. The Pegasus is on fire, is heading in the same direction. No one is in control, as both are in sync and know exactly where they are going and why. A rainbow planet, denoting the balanced seven chakras lights their way, showing the woman has control over all her needs, whether they are emotional, physical, mental or spiritual.

Meaning

For me, the Chariot is about triumph over obstacles and breaking through barriers by being in control of where we are heading and fulfilling goals through determination, self-discipline and focus. Your life is in YOUR hands. It is definitely an action card – there is no standing still and waiting for something to happen! How many times do we want to do something, but the way ahead is never clear. When the Chariot appears, it means taking the steps to get going. The way ahead will only become clear if you start. Be focussed and control your emotions or you may find yourself being pulled in many directions causing chaos, (yep… I struggle with controlling my emotions big time! No wonder this is one of the lessons I have to learn in this life – control my emotions!)

I am very determined person (some would say stubborn), and extremely focused – so much so that during the creation of the deck, there were days when I would be working 4-5 hrs straight and not getting up once from my seat for food or water. Once I know what I want, nothing stops me.

For me, the Chariot has shown up with the many battles I have had to face. Many a time I had no idea what the way ahead was, but yet, I fought. I have had to draw upon sheer willpower and determination to survive those battles. From fighting against my family when I was disowned, to fighting for my children as I was deemed a “bad mum” because I was bringing them up in a non-religious environment instead of the religion I had been brought up in. Even, battling the post-natal depression, has been a war I am fighting (Not to the extent I was before). My life has been one battle after the other, and I am still standing – THAT is the power of the Chariot. THAT is the power of willpower, determination, focus and by having faith that nothing would stand in my way.

On a practical note, I also LOVE the fact that the Chariot is my Birth Card as I love travelling and exploring. There is nothing I love better than planning and going on a road trip.

Question – Are you in control of your life or have you handed it over to something else? What can you do to take it back?

Affirmation – “I invite guidance and clarity.”

Live The Chariot– Plan and go on a road trip or start something you have been planning for ages – just do it!

So, that was The Chariot – one of my Birth Cards. Next month I will look at The Tower (a card which gives me the heebiejeebies…I do NOT like this card!)
